This is a short documentary which focuses on the UB Liberty Partnerships program and their summer arts programming. I was responsible for video documentation of the arts camp over a six week period. My goal was to capture scenes to tell a story about how the youth in the camp focused on anti-violence, the arts and media in a manner which provoked them to think about ways in which to actively try to make a positive change in their communities.

I worked on this documentary for most of my college education. I had worked at CEM's Star Afterschool Program for 11 years as a youth coordinator. I was employed there when I began taking college courses at UB in Media Study. This particular film is the culmination of approximately 8 years of footage I had collected and was used as my thesis documentary for the MFA degree in Media Study Production. The most difficult aspect of working on the film (and perhaps the most rewarding as well) was my inability to separate myself from my subjects since I played the role of youth worker and filmmaker.

This material was edited together long before HD video recording became so mainstream. The footatge is still relevant however, because it shows the variety of subjects I have had the pleasure of working with and also shows a good example of my abilities as an editor.

This video was created for Meredith Greno, the now owner and director of Fuse Salon and Gallery on Elmwood Ave. Meredith hired me to create a video resume for Faruk. She was applying for a position as an educator and instructor.

Like a Panther's music video "The Thief" is the first and only music video I have ever shot. The budget was a couple hundred dollars and was shot over the course of 4 days. I would love to shoot more music videos.



Reign NFHS Performance (2010) 6mins45sec

Reign's NFHS performance was filmed by myself and another camera operator. I am responsible for the close-up shots and the editing of the final piece.

Shilo's Video (2010) 4mins22sec

Shilo's Video was created for the local canine rescue non-profit called Buffalo Pugs. I spent some time in 2010 working as a volunteer for the agency. Shilo had been in foster care for a long time and Buffalo Pugs was eager to find her a "forever home". The video was placed online and within a few months, Shilo was adopted.

This video was created for Southeast Works, a local non-profit agency which provides services to help people with developmental disabilities lead productive, independent and fulfilling lives. The video was commissioned to go along with a speech given at the annual fundraising event and is therefore lacking audio, apart from the introduction.

The War Zone is You is the result of a collaboration between myself and 4 dancers and choreographers. The piece was created for a mixed media art opening at B-West Studios in Buffalo, NY.

This clip is just a snippet of a larger piece which was used during a live performance by a local comedy/burlesque group. The live piece ran during December of 2009 at The Alt Theatre. The main character on stage is seen dozing off while flipping through television stations on New Year's Eve.
