(K-12th grade)
As a media arts educator my main goal in any class I teach is to help my students become better artists and to enhance their unique vision and voice. Each of my workshops is very well structured and my curriculum is based on student interest and individual skill level. I always work with a rough outline in mind and let the diversity within each particular group dictate the specific details of the artistic projects to be completed. I believe that each child has something different to offer to the group and do my best to let my teaching follow their lead as often as possible. Oftentimes this means that a variety of types of works will evolve from the workshops including, but not limited to fictional stories, documentary inspired works, comedies, dramas and experimental pieces.

Types of Workshops Offered:

1. The Fundamentals of Digital Photography
2. Digital Storytelling
3. Stop-Motion Animation
4. Digital Photo Editing (in iphoto and photoshop)
4. Documentary Production
5. Short Film Production
6. Music Video Production
7. Video Editing (in imovie and final cut pro)

Youth participants will work on a variety of multimedia projects throughout the duration of the workshop. At a minimum, all participants will learn to develop basic digital photography/digital video production skills and learn the fundamentals of shot composition and dynamic image making through in class exercises and photo shoots. Take-home photography and video assignments are also a staple part of each workshop. Participants are provided the opportunity to record and share parts of their home-lives with their peers and teachers thereby making each of the students works truly personal.

At the end of each workshop session all youth created works are showcased.

FINAL SHOW/SCREENING!!!!!!!

We had a mini event yesterday. All the girls videos were screened and their photos were on display. The show was for the star after-school program participants as well as the staff. It was AWESOME! Our event on Wednesday is for anyone who wants to come see some really amazing artwork by some awesome west-side kids. Drop me an email at danielleboris@gmail.com or FB me if you are thinking about coming. If I can get any kind of a head count it will really help.
